On January 18 we left Fox Glacier for the 5 hour+ drive to Queenstown, Adventure Capitol of the World and home of the bungee jump. The drive was fabulous with beautiful scenery along the way:
On the way we rode through the town of Wanaka. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased to see a major triathalon event going on with runners and cyclists. There were many cycle shops in town and there appears to be a lot of cycling fools in the area. Everyone was having a fabulous time. The beer was flowing, the music was playing, and the crown was positively boisterous.
Works for me - actually wine more than beer.
